Mackenzie was one of two seniors to make the trip from Lincoln, Nebraska to shoot with me and I couldn't be more honored. She and her amazing mama were so much fun to spend an afternoon with. By the end of the day, they felt more less like clients and more like old friends.
Here are some (okay, a LOT) of my favorites from Mackenzie's session.
Her amazing mama, Kelly.
I can't even begin to tell you how badass Kelly is. She's beaten cancer, she rides a Harley and she's licensed to carry a gun. Rock on with your bad self, Kelly!
This was just a test shot after a makeup and hair change, but we loved it! Ended up being one of our favorites.
Reese and I...we've got history. I photographed her parents engagement session, their wedding and their maternity session. Erin and Brian have such a beautiful love for each other. They both come from tight-knit, loving families and I always knew they would be amazing parents so I was delighted when they asked me to do Reese's newborn portraits. She's an adorable little girl who came into this world with an amazing amount of love waiting for her.
Here, she looks just like her beautiful mama...
And my absolute favorite...
We're shooting Reese's six month pics this afternoon and it wasn't until now that I realized I'd never shared her newborn session. I think I'm even more excited for this one than I was the newborn session, if that's possible. She's sitting up now and you'll just die when you see her wardrobe!
Surprises...they practically kill me! Whether they're for me or from me, I can hardly stand them. I hate not knowing what's coming. And yes, I'm that girl that buys a Christmas gift and gives it three weeks early because I JUST. CAN'T. TAKE. IT.
When Carolyn called and asked me to photograph her sister's son as a Mother's Day surprise I was super excited. Carolyn and Christy (along with the rest of their family) are long-time friends of mine and I just adore them all, especially little Brody. He's as cute as they come and he's always so incredibly happy. We had a blast shooting and I'm totally in love with these images!
Apparently, I'm not the only one who can't hold down a surprise. Carolyn (and Christy's husband Phillip) broke down and gave Christy her Mother's Day gift a day early and I couldn't be happier because now I can finally share the images.
My absolute favorite...those little hands! Could he be any cuter? Nope, didn't think so.
He's totally gonna hate me, but how could I resist those adorable saddlebags?
Brody's daddy was in on this covert operation, too. He smuggled clothes out of the house for us and even popped in for a shot with his little man.
We put together an accordion mini album for Christy - it's one of my favorite new products. Carolyn sent me a text this morning and said Christy cried when they gave it to her. I forgot to photograph the finished product, so as soon as I can pry it from Christy's hands for five minutes I'll be sure to post a few shots.
Happy Mother's Day to Christy and all the other mama's out there!
Mother's Day is just three days away and we've extended our special offer. Surprise her with a gift certificate for a portrait session and we'll throw in an additional $100 print credit for free! Sessions can take place anytime between now and November 1, 2011. Simply email or call us by 5pm Saturday and we'll email your gift certificate to you!
It's sure to be the best Mother's Day gift she's ever received!
This sweet baby was so good to me. There wasn't anything she wouldn't let us do. She was such a treat for me to photograph and as you can see she's just as gorgeous as her parents.
I even went out on a limb and made my first attempt at crocheting a baby cocoon. I kinda wish I would have had a few when Rilee and Lucee were little - I just love how snuggly the babies look in them.
So sweet how her little piggies popped out...
She made some of the most adorable faces.
It's exhausting being a baby, you know?
She even threw us a few smiles.
I wonder if she'll have her mama's beautiful blue eyes...
There's no doubt she'll have her daddy wrapped around her finger.
Her grandma's have already showered her with lots of love. This quilt was handmade by one of them.
And this quilt was made by the other one. I love being able to incorporate special things like this with babies.
Nick is a firefighter who works with Chris. And if you know me at all you know I was only half joking when I told Chris that this shot alone, would almost be worth us having another baby. I'm so happy we got this one!
Congratulations, Nick and Alecia! This time passes all too quickly and I'm so honored to be able to capture it for you. She's a beautiful little girl who is already so very, very loved and I can't wait to watch her grow.
